Michael Auslin grew up outside of Chicago, Illinois. He is an historian and commentator, known on-screen for "Japan: Memoirs of a Secret Empire" (2004), "China: A New World Order" (2019), and "Age of Samurai" (2021), as well as appearances on "Iron Chef America: The Series" (2004) and numerous current affairs programs. He was an associate professor of history at Yale University and is a distinguished research fellow at Stanford University. He is the author of "Asia's New Geopolitics" (2020) and "The End of the Asian Century" (2017), among other works of history.
